THE ACCESSIBLE OUTBACK

The Broken Hill - White Cliffs area is known as the 'accessible outback'. One can drive from Melbourne or Sydney to White Cliffs in 1 day, whereas it would take 3 days to reach Alice Springs from these cities.

White Cliffs is:

  • 1 hour north of Wilcannia

  • less than 3 hours from Broken Hill

  • 1100 km from Sydney

  • 900 km from Melbourne

 



 

 

BEAUTIFUL BITUMEN ROAD

The road from Wilcannia to White Cliffs is now all tarred. That's right – no more dirt road.

This makes for an uncomplicated drive from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Brisbane. Outback roads are very, very straight! Quite relaxing to drive on.

To answer a frequently asked question: a 4WD vehicle is NOT needed to visit White Cliffs.

 
 

EVEN BETTER...

But then of course you don't have to drive. The motel has its own helicopter pad.

White Cliffs also has an excellent aerodrome, so that a significant percentage of the motel's clients come by private planes. (Give us a ring from the aerodrome and we'll organise for someone to come and pick you up.)
